At Lakefield Equestrian diversity and inclusion are very important values to us and are integral to what we do. We are dedicated to providing an accessible, enjoyable, and safe equestrian experience for all – no matter your level of experience or skill.

It is our belief that every person should be able to enjoy the thrill and freedom of riding a horse. We understand that horse riding can be a daunting prospect for many in the beginning, so we strive to make it a positive and accessible experience for all.

We are proud to be a Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) approved centre, offering riding for people with disabilities. The RDA provides the opportunity for people with disabilities to take part in therapeutic and recreational horse-riding activities. We are dedicated to ensuring that our riding school provides an experience that is inclusive and accessible to all. We currently provide tuition to 85 riders a week and take pride in the fact we assist riders moving on to the British Dressage Para equestrian

At our riding school, we provide a range of services and activities to ensure that everyone can enjoy the experience of horse riding. From basic riding lessons (group or private) to more advanced activities, we have something for everyone. We also provide a range of services to ensure that everyone can access and enjoy our activities. These include:

  • Offering one-on-one instruction for riders with specific needs. Our instructors hold the qualification RDA Advanced Coach.
  • Offering work placements for clients with additional needs and can offer NVQ level 1 placements.
  • Offering education qualifications run through RDA.

Moreover, we are an approved centre of the British Horse Society (BHS) and fully align with their policies on both diversity and inclusion.

β€œThe BHS aims to ensure that all individuals have equal opportunities to apply for jobs and to take part in equestrian activities irrespective of age, sex, gender identity, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, religion, social background, or sexual orientation.  β€œ
